Did you know…
One of the easiest ways to reduce the Himsa (violence) arising from our dietary choices
is to simply reduce the amount of food that we waste?
On this holy occasion, let us commit to reduce food wastage – we humbly request that you forward names of those family members who shall be attending the luncheon to
Lataben on 0116 2712642 or 07940 994622 OR to Chimanbhai on 0116 2709438 by 21st April 2019
Donations towards the cost of the function are welcome.
Daan is an important part of Jainism
Over the past few years we have collected a significant amount of food items that were donated to the Red Cross to be distributed to street sleepers, asylum seekers and refugee families. We have the opportunity to do the same again this year. If you wish to donate towards this worthy cause, please give essential items such as toothbrushes, shampoo, soap or food items like pot noodles, bottles of water, rice, sugar, coconuts, cornmeal, tinned tomatoes, beans, pulses and lentils etc. These items will be collected on 28th April 2019 at the MJK celebration. Let’s make a difference to those who are less fortunate than us by giving a little ‘Daan’ again this year. We shall present it collectively to the Red Cross on behalf of the Oshwal Association UK, Leicester Area.
