Starting at the Golders Hill Park (near the tennis courts) this is a moderate circular walk through the Hampstead Heath.
This walk explores one of London’s best known and loved open spaces. You will walk through “The Secret Garden” which is undeniably one of London’s hidden treasures. It ascends the wonderful viewpoint of Parliament Hill, passes the historic Kenwood House and also The Spaniards Inn, where highway man Dick Turpin is thought to have been a regular!
Please bring your trekking poles, gaiters, sturdy suitable walking shoes and waterproof clothing as we will be covering natural paths through the Heath. Also bring some food for a rest stop along the route and at least 1 litre of water. Arrive by 08.45 am for warm up and we will start promptly at 9.00 am.
Participants must be generally in good health and capable of walking unaided over rough terrain.
Please note children under 16 must be accompanied by Adults.
NB: British Summer Time Ends so ensure to change the clocks back by 1 hour!
The tennis courts are at the west end of West Heath Avenue. There is pay and display parking in the vicinity, or free parking can be found on neighbouring streets such as Dunstan Road.
