Time: 8.00am to 1.00pm
Location: Heartwood Forest car park. Heartwood Forest is located either side of the B651 between Sandridge and Wheathampstead Village and 2.5 miles north of St Albans City Centre in Hertfordshire.
The car park is situated off the B651, the main road that runs from Sandridge to Wheathampstead. The nearest postcode is AL4 9DQ and there is a brown tourist sign pointing into the car park from the main road. The car park opens at 8am.
Enjoy this largely-flat trek in the countryside, with most of the walking on country paths and fields, and a small amount of road-walking. This trek will be roughly 4 hours depending on number of people trekking, covering around 12 kilometres. Participants must be generally in good health and capable of walking unaided over rough terrain at a good pace.
Please bring your trekking poles, gaiters, suitable trekking shoes and warm, waterproof clothing as we will be covering natural paths, fields and roads. Also bring some snacks for a rest stop along the route and at least 1 litre of water. Arrive by 8.00am for a warm up and we will start at 8.15am. If you are late you will not be able to join us.
Please note children under 16 MUST be accompanied by Adults.
Participants must be generally in good health and capable of walking unaided over rough terrain.
