It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Harakhchand Dharamshi Shah at home in Bounds Green on Tuesday, 20th October 2020, at the age of 84. He was fondly known by his friends as Mohan or Mathur and as Bhai by his family.
He was born in Jamnagar, India, and lived in Mombasa, Kenya, until 1971 when he emigrated to London, UK, with his family.
He worked his entire life at Barclays International Bank in Mombasa, Kenya, and later, in London, UK.
Son of Late Dharamshi Kachra & Late Kankuben Dharamshi.
Son-in-law of Late Makanji Jivraj Gada & Late Jethiben Makanji.
Beloved and cherished husband of Pushpaben Harakhchand Shah.
Loving father to Harsha and Manish, father-in-law to Puline and SuZanne and Late Sapna.
Doting Grandfather to Riya, Kyle & Aanya.
He was brother and brother-in-law to Vanitaben & Mansukhlal, Kanti & Monicaben, Navin & Vasantiben, Kishor & Sunitaben and Pravin & Jinitaben.
He was brother-in-law to Vimlaben & Late Harakhchand (Bachubhai), Manguben & Harakhchand (Eldoret), Aruna & Ramesh, Shantilal & Dinumati, (Eldoret) Hansa & Amritlal (Nairobi).
Bhai had a warm, gentle and kind nature. He was medically retired early due to health reasons and showed much strength and remained positive throughout his life. He was always passionate when it came to playing cards and was a founding member of the Oshwal bridge club. He will be dearly missed by his Grandchildren with who he spent countless hours playing cards and chess as well as sharing stories from the past with words of wisdom.
A true gentleman who will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
