Late Jayaben Sobhagchand Shah

1941 – 2018

Aged 77, Jayaben passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours on the 28th   December 2018. Jayaben Sobhagchand Shah (Hounslow), wife of late Sobhagchand Kachra Shah, leaves behind a loving family, Vinai – (Hounslow), Seema (Atlanta, USA) and Sejal (Switzerland) (children), Divya, Rajesh and Vinat (children in law) and Simran, Mansi, Karan and Neha (grandchildren), not to forget our adorable pet rabbit – Jackson.

Jayaben was the third child (daughter) of late Nathu Dharamshi and late Jasodaben Nathu Shah, born in Mombasa, Kenya. Her innate generosity and free-care upbringing made her a pleasure to be with, within her extended family and friends.

Jayaben, a sister and sister-in-law to late Shantaben and late Karmashibhai (India), Kantaben and late Maganbhai (Thika), Amubhai and late Niruben (Mombasa), Dhirubhai and Sarlaben (Hounslow), late Surendrabhai and Vanitaben (Staines) and Manjuben and Jitubhai (Hounslow).

In 1963, she married Sobhagchand Kachra Shah and moved to Thika and had three amazing children – Vinai – (Hounslow), Seema (Atlanta, USA) and Sejal (Switzerland) whilst living between Mombasa and Nairobi, Kenya.

In 1980, the whole family moved to Hounslow, UK, where her family was well established. Due to her entire life’s mission based on one purpose “how may I serve”, she settled quickly and always found herself surrounded with loving and harmonious relationships. Her passion was to be present in every moment and she never ever looked back in life with regret nor was she ever worried about any future mishaps.

Her readiness to learn, travel, meet and make friends, made her converse fluently in English and her humbleness, always left, whom she met, happier and joyful.

Jayaben’s, ability to forgive and forget any past hurt, enriched her to continue with life, no matter what she faced, when she became housebound in 2016 due to a fall. She never complained and her smile brought so much happiness to everyone. Her attitude to appreciate each and everyone shined, when she ended every sentence with, “Thank you, God bless you”.

Her funeral took place at 12:00 noon on the 31st Dec 2018 at Wages and Sons, 1040 Main St, Stone Mountain Georgia 30083 USA.

Prayers will be held at:

Oshwal Centre, UNITY Hall, Coopers Lane Road, Potters Bar, Herts, EN6 4DG

on Saturday 12th January 2019, 8-10pm.
